Essentially it kick starts the body’s natural healing mechanisms.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Is Shockwave Therapy an Effective Treatment Approach?” el_id=”1447775509433-864754c0-0f71″]Shockwave therapy is a research proven treatment approach effective in fixing many chronic musculoskeletal conditions, such as:

Plantar Fasciitis
Achilles, Peroneal & Posterior Tibilais Tendinopathy
Calcification & Rotator Cuff of the shoulder
Patella Tendinopathy
Tennis Elbow (lateral epicondylitis)
Hamstring Tendinopathy
Shin splints
Shockwave therapy is frequently effective where previous conservative management has failed to resolve notoriously stubborn complaints.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”How Does Shockwave Therapy Work?” el_id=”1447775573692-0e923896-5876″]Increasing circulation
Breaking down calcification deposits
Stimulating fibroblast (soft tissue cells) production – healing ligaments, tendons, muscles…
Stimulating osteoblast (bone cells) production – healing bone
Stimulating the “gate-control” mechanism for pain relief
Inhibiting Cox II Enzyme, producing an anti-inflammatory effect[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”How Soon Will I See Results With Shockwave Therapy?” el_id=”1447775509262-eb991262-f2ed”]Most patients experience a small pain reduction and a greater range of movement immediately after the procedure. This is usually temporary and real results are seen after a few days when the injuries begin to heal. Depending on your condition, healing can take weeks to months, however pain relief usually precedes this.
[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”What Does A Shockwave Therapy Session Involve?” el_id=”1447775573338-783ac9b3-bdfd”]Shockwave Therapy is a safe, non-invasive procedure. A contact gel is applied to the area, then a hand held probe is applied to the skin. The probe delivers the acoustic waves in a controlled and focused manner for typically 5-10 minutes per injured area.

Contra-Indications:
Whilst very safe, shockwave therapy is contra-indicated in the following conditions:
Pregnancy
Bleeding disorders
Warfarin therapy
Tumors
Local inflammation/wound[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”What Shockwave Therapy Machine Is Used At Physio Performance?” el_id=”1447775666616-dff0fc5f-a86d”]When deciding which shockwave therapy machine to have at our clinic we trialed many of the multiple machines that are on offer in the market and following a lengthy trial period it was obvious there was no comparison to the quality of shockwave treatment that the OCEANUS shockwave machines provide. Hence Physio Performance is now able to offer our clients what we feel is the best quality radial shockwave machine on the market with the new OCEANUS Master Touch machine.[/vc_toggle][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
